Stride Gallery Show - Tonight

I've been so busy, I forgot to let everyone know that I'm having a show.....and the opening is tonight from 8 untill midnight!

Please come out and see my new work titled, Field Studies at the Stride Gallery in Calgary.

The show runs from April 10 until May 9th 2014.

Some of the work is kinetic and interactive.  Canadian Art magazine said my sculptures were "witty".

Come see for yourself.

Mike Hein is also exhibiting his work Feldspar.

MEXICO + RESIDENCY

I just returned from a 3 week residency in Mexico.  The residency was organized through Arquetopia, a not for profit organization based out of Puebla and Oaxaca, Mexico.

I'd like to thank Paco, Chris, Nyeli, Kim, Marce, Gloria as well as our incredible cook for making my trip so amazing.

While I was there I experimented with "papel mache" (papier mâché) techniques and learned some new embroidery and cross stitching skills.

I also found a bit of time to visit some Mayan ruins, watch some Mexican wrestling, drink Mezcal and eat lots and lots of delicious Mexican food.

Performance artists Sandrine Schaefer and Daniel S. DeLuca were also participants of the residency during my stay.  You can check out their work at the following links.
