Talking Cones (3)
When seated at park benches, participants could speak into fabricated metal cones connected by way of 70 feet of metal tubing and be heard clearly and effortlessly as if they were seated beside each other. Using low-tech means this project provides an opportunity for bridging new communities and providing an opportunity for strangers to interact with one another. 2006 Steel/Metal Tubing/Park Benches/Paint Temporary Installation-Intervention located at The Dingle/ Sir Sanford Fleming Park, Halifax NS -
Park (3)
This site-conditioned installation transformed an abandoned piece of commercial land into a useable park space for the community. The last gesture was to modify the parking sign by duct taping over most of the lettering. By doing so the sign was transformed from “PRIVATE PARKING” to PARK. 2006 Swing/Seesaw/Bench/Wood/Steel/Duct Tape Temporary Installation Portland Street, Halifax NS -
Truck Stop (4)
Using relatively low tech means this interactive sculpture helped viewers recognize the shape of a transport truck hidden in the architectural contours of a neighbourhood building. 2009 MDF/Mirrors/Reflectors/LEDs/Wood/Paint A Temporary Installation for the AGNS Nocturne Festival, Gottingen St. and North St. Halifax NS -
Paint the Town Brown (2)
In this site-conditioned installation, I spray painted stencils of cartoon feces on the sidewalks and streets of San Telmo, a borough in Buenos Aires. This piece was a reaction to the copious amounts of dog excrement left on the sidewalks and a response to the prevalent presence and use of street graffiti as a form of protest throughout the city. 2009 Stencil/Paint/Installation, Buenos Aires, Argentina -
